Homelessness Prevention Program

The Homelessness Prevention Program provides people who are at risk of homelessness with portable subsidies, rent supplements and support services to help them access rental housing in the private housing market.

In many instances, the Homeless Prevention Program operates as an enhancement to existing homeless outreach programs and provides additional support at life transition points that put people at greater risk of homelessness. The program supports:

• Youth transitioning out of foster care

• Women who have experienced violence or are at risk of violence

• Individuals leaving the correctional or hospital systems

• Individuals of Indigenous descent
